EORIEconomic Operators Registration and Identification number used to identify operators in customs-related interactions.
Economic operatorA person or business acting in the course of their activity in matters covered by customs legislation.
DeclarantThe person lodging a customs declaration, whether acting for themselves or for another party.
Importer of recordThe party responsible for import compliance in the destination territory, including duties and regulatory controls.
Direct representationRepresentative acts in the name and on behalf of the principal in customs formalities, subject to national rules.
Indirect representationRepresentative acts in their own name but on behalf of the principal, with liability implications depending on rules.
ReleaseCustoms decision allowing goods to move into a procedure, including release for free circulation when applicable.
HS codeHarmonized System commodity classification used to determine duties and controls.
