Italian EORI Overview
Italy, with major ports in Genoa, La Spezia, and Trieste, plays a significant role in Mediterranean trade. Italian EORI numbers are issued by the Agenzia delle Dogane e dei Monopoli (Customs and Monopolies Agency) and are directly based on the Partita IVA (VAT number) system.
Italian EORI Format
Italian EORI numbers follow a simple and consistent format based on the VAT identification number (Partita IVA).
Example:
IT12345678901Total length: 13 characters
Note: The 11-digit portion matches the Italian VAT number exactly
